Invoices and receipts: tell the amounts apart
Distinguish invoicing, money received and outstanding rental payments.

Start with the actual transaction
A reservation, an invoice and a payment describe different stages. To understand what reached your cash account, start with confirmed payments and their dates. Receiving a deposit payment does not mean the entire rental is paid; issuing an invoice does not prove the customer has paid.
Link each payment to its rental
Find the reservation, customer, vehicle and payment method. Check partial payments, cancellations and refunds before comparing totals. Identify security deposits according to their purpose: money entering an account does not automatically make it rental income.
Set up a regular review
Choose a consistent period and match payments to their rental records. Review outstanding amounts separately from receipts. A LocaFlotte and LocaWallet demo should show this connection and explain how corrections are handled. When you find a discrepancy, correct the information at its source.
